Section I Poems

Hope -- a 'tulip' poem about the struggle with hope and despair, they battle for mental terrain, see who wins.

Spring ---- written in the gray cold winter, about drinking and smelling and being in spring.

Loneliness ---- written in a lonely hotel in San Francisco before giving a speech.

The Ghosts of Hobbits Glen ----- true place, true story? So transforming I moved in.

Tim ---- the evolution of the incredible pain of losing my son Tim.

Linda ---- to my dear wife Linda.

A boy stargazing ---- biography by images.

Poem to Tim

To Kevin --- my grandson.

Thunderstorms ---- something you never knew about thunder and lightening.

To John and Greg .... John Rice, Greg Mort: our conversation about the tug to follow your dream. Sets context for the poem about following your dreams.

sleepy Dream to compelling Destiny ---- a sonnet about inescapable entrepreneurs' DNA

The Lesson and Gift of Cancer ---- tried to capture the experience of the scare. Narrative with poem at end.

Tuna and Turkey ---- erotic fantasy

Our Senior Team, the hope and dream ---- Casey at the bat, this time playing tennis.

Section II --- Stories

A collection of stories written the last several years about seminal events and life passages.

The Homecoming--- revisiting my alma mater University of Connecticut after forty three years and giving a lecture on entrepreneurship. What was the same, what changed?

Doug Hokenson ---- lost a lifelong friend and wrote of shared memories. Had it printed in a booklet and gave it to Doug's family. Brought back childhood memories that had to be told, couldn't let the shared experience be buried with Doug.

Flying home from Greece ---- how an disruptive flight had me recalibrate my life lens.

My creative process ---- how I work.

Thoughts about Paris ----- written to my 'Artist Connection' group of creative people. Lonely walks on Parisian streets transformed.

Launch Issues ---- gut check for entrepreneurs about to jump.

Section III -- Science, Mathematical analysis of DNA --- 2006 through 2010

This third section is about science -- -- specifically applying mathematical techniques to try to capture the inherent complexity of organic systems.  My initial  interest was piqued by some other scientists writing by using my cyclomatic software complexity measure to capture a notion of emergent intelligence or even cellular complexity.

The first two articles serve as general background -- -- including a letter I wrote describing my initial thoughts. The third article is an introduction to my research on a mathematical characterization of DNA complexity.

Measuring Complexity  ....... published on the web. About using the McCabe algorithm complexity measure on the DNA transcription process. Can be used to classify and compare the complexity of different species.

Complexity of Emergent Intelligence............ a letter about the same. What's fun here is the connection between molelecture biology and compute science.

A Mathematical Analysis of DNA Double Helix Complexity ..... an introduction, suggests the regularity of DNA/RNA/Protein synthesis to be three isomorphic mathematical spaces.  Have since focused on the AIDS genome.

Section IV Computer Science --- 2010

Identifying and Isolating software security risks   ............ just written. A neat application of both graph theory and set theory. Isolates a security flaw or bug. Works with incremental testing or gestalt batch testing.
